Boscombe beach-goers will soon be able to store their deckchairs in the best beach huts in the world.

That’s the bold claim made by tourism chiefs as they unveiled artist’s impressions of what the hip new huts or “surf pods” will look like.

The neglected wooden and concrete 1958 Overstrand building is getting a makeover this year, with the addition of 31 new beach huts. These ’surf pods’ have been designed by Wayne and Gerardine Hemingway MBE - creators of the iconic Red or Dead fashion brand.

Wayne talks about how he plans to transform the area directly overlooking Bournemouth’s Surf Reef.
