Latest Construction Update

February 17th, 2009

News Issued by Bournemouth Council and ASR Ltd

The man in charge of managing the construction of the top layer of Boscombe’s artificial surf reef will arrive in Bournemouth on 26th February 2009.

During his visit, ASR’s Mike Woods will meet with Council officers and Cllr Beverley Dunlop, Cabinet Member for Economy and Tourism, carry out various site visits and discuss long-term weather forecasts and arrangements for work recommencing.

Mike Woods said:

I am delighted to be coming to Bournemouth to make sure that everything is ready for work to start again on site in the spring. ASR is committed to this flagship project – we know the world is watching and we intend to deliver.

Following his initial visit in February, Mike will return again in April, to ensure construction begins on site again as soon as the weather conditions allow.

does this mean the world is no longer watching ASRs old flagship project (the Opunake reef ) which is no more than a sunken wreck .
There is still a construction site sign up saying work will be completed in May 2006
If any one sees one of those elusive ASR creatures can you please tell them they still have a job to finish back home.
