Bournemouth Surf Reef Goes Mobile

iPhone You can now keep up to date with the latest surf reef news via your iPhone or iPod touch.

We have created an optimised version of the site, formatted perfectly to fit the iPhone/iPod touch’s screen. It will be detected when you log on using one of these devices and transforms the standard site into an application-like experience, complete with search, categories, tags, archives, photos and more.

We’ve taken this step because the majority of standard websites do not translate well in the viewport of mobile phones. When information configured for a full sized monitor is reduced to display on the screen of an iPhone, it often becomes too small to read. Also, many websites make heavy use of scripts which significantly increase the load time of pages on mobile connections.

If you’d prefer to see the website’s regular appearance, there is an option in the footer for you to easily switch between the two versions.
